Lab 4,  Due 8/9/10, BEGINNING OF CLASS!!!!
This lab introduces you to controlling a robotic system using microcontroller board board.
  • Assignment:  Build your robotic platform.  Attach the controller board and control motion of the vehicle so it travels in a square pattern of 1 meter on each side.  Your grade will be determined on being able to make a perfect square and finishing in the same location that you started.
  • Write up your implementation in a 2-3 page lab report.  Also upload code listings of code you write to Moodle.
  • M30262-SKP Tutorial, Sample Programs, & Device Drivers directories.

  • Documentation contained in the MSV30262-SKP directories

  • No solution will be provided.

Lab 3,  Due 6/28/10, BEGINNING OF CLASS!!!!
This lab introduces you to controlling a robotic system using an FPGA board.
  • Assignment:  Build your robotic platform.  Attach the FPGA board and control motion of the vehicle so it travels in a square pattern of 1 meter on each side.  Your grade will be determined on being able to make a perfect square and finishing in the same location that you started.
  • Write up your implementation in a 2-3 page lab report.
  • Here is a description of how to "permanently" download your design to an FPGA (and have it remain when power is removed).
  • No solution will be provided.
  • Here is an example (pdf file) of a good lab report.

Lab 2,  Due 6/16/10, BEGINNING OF CLASS!!!!
This lab introduces you to robotic systems programming.
  • Assignment:  program your Sumo Robot to win the class competition.  Write up your implementation in a 2-3 page lab report.
  • No solution will be provided.
  • Here is an example (pdf file) of a good lab report.

Lab 1,  Due 6/2/10, BEGINNING OF CLASS!!!!
This lab introduces you to robotic systems.
  • Assignment:  Get your Lego Mindstorm to do something useful/interesting.  Write up your implementation in a 2-3 page lab report.  Optional:  make a video.
  • No solution will be provided.
  • Here is an example (pdf file) of a good lab report.
