Week of Monday April 10, 2006
  • Extra Credit opportunity:  Wed 4/26, 7:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Work on your lab assignment in WH203 and earn 5 points extra credit.  Alumni will be in the touring from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., so you may need to discuss your project.  Only the first 10 people who sign up are eligible.

  • Extra credit opportunity:  Engineering Technology is running an event for high school students on Wednesday, 3/15.  They need assistance to show students around, help run event, and guard the cookies (to keep the kids from licking them - no kidding!).  You can earn 5 points extra credit for each 1.5 hour shift you help.  (7:30 - 9, 10-11:30, 12 - 1:30, 1:20-3).  If interested, send an email to Steve Kuyath at sjkuyath@uncc.edu.

  • The Intel information session is Tuesday, 2/14/06, 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. in Woodward 120.  The primary audience for the talk and intern position: BS and MS candidates in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, Computer Science.  We have an intern position in our server Bios / carrier grade Linux, and server management team in addition to the positions in board design.   (Columbia, SC)

Week of Monday January 30, 2006
  • It has been requested that I have regular office hours.  I have therefore changed my office hour policy:  I will hold office hours Tuesday and Thursday, 9:45 to 11:45 a.m.  I will not answer knocks on my door - please respect that when my door is closed, I am likely deep in thought and cannot be disturbed.  You can also schedule an appointment with a minimum of 24 hours notice.

  • Poster for SoutheastCon 2006 (Note - you will need to attend the conference): 
    The proposal for posters should include the objectives, a brief description (200 words in MS Word), and a short, professional resume of the author. Please send proposals and resume to Poster Co-Chairs (Co-Chairs: Bruce Walcott (walcott@engr.uky.ed) and Stacy Wilson (stacy.wilson@wku.edu) or John Ventura (jventura@cbu.edu) by February 20, 2006. PowerPoint documents will be sent directly to the Poster Co-Chairs or John Ventura. For  additional information regarding posters, please contact the Poster Co-Chairs. Notification of acceptance to authors will be by February 23, 2006.
