Research

I am a member of the Knowledge Discovery in Databases lab at UNCC.

I focus on methods for the development of decision support systems in a business environment. My published works and in progress works, focus on feature construction for data mining. The published works have focused on textual features such as sentiment analysis, but I am currently exploring the use of visual features to better address the problem area.

The goal of my research is the development of a decision support system that can provide guidance for artists on how to maximize the potential of their work commercially. At present, the focus is on predicting the price of an artwork to help artists and aspiring art collectors determine if the price of a work is in line with current market expectations.

My research interests include data mining and computing education.
