Wahida Nasrin

Ph. D.
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering,
University of North Carolina at Charlotte, U.S.

Brief Biography

I am a recent graduate with a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During this period, I have worked as a research assistant in the wireless networking lab under the direction of Professor Linda (Jiang) Xie. My research includes seamless and secure mobility management in 4G/5G small cell networks. I have worked on security and mobility management issues and designed several original protocols for small cell networks, cognitive radio networks, and edge cloud computing. I received my B.S. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Bangladesh in 2009.

Research Interest

My research interests lie in the area of wireless communication and networking, network secuity, data mining, cloud/fog/mobile edge computing and its applications in intelligent transportation systems, Internet of Things (IoT), 5G, etc., and next generation small cell networks (femtocells, cognitive radio femtocells, mmWave small cells, etc.). My work includes protocol design and performance analysis to provide fast, efficient, and secure mobility in emerging networks.
