Week of Monday, December 7, 2015
  • Section 001:  The Final Exam in on Monday, December 14, 8:00 am. No books, notes, or calculator.  You can have two 8.5" by 11" sheets of paper (both sides) as "cheet sheets".
  • Section 002:  The Final Exam in on Tuesday, December 15, 11:00 am. No books, notes, or calculator.  You can have two 8.5" by 11" sheets of paper (both sides) as "cheet sheets".

Week of Monday, November 30, 2015
  • Lab assignment 5 has been updated to fix a few typos.  Visit the Computer Labs page to get version 2.
  • Please attend recitation on Friday, December 4.  There will be a quiz, Brian will cover some hints for the lab assignment, and Lauren/Sandeep will answer questions.
  • We have scheduled an extra study session on Thursday, December 10, 1:00 to 3:30 pm in EPIC 2222.  This will be run like a recitation session.

  • Homework 6 is posted and due Monday, December 7 or Tuesday, December 8. 
  • The next lab assignment, Lab 5 (posted), is due Wednesday, December 9 at 5:00 pm.   The demo is during Brian's Office hours and recitation times, plus and extra time on Wednesday.
  • As a special quiz assignment, you can write two multiple choice questions for the final exam   - Due 12/3/2015, 11am via Moodle and hardcopy (in class or under Dr. Conrad's door).

  • The exam in on Friday, October 2.  Parking is allowed in the CRI deck until 12:30pm.  DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF THE BUILDING!  No books, notes, or calculator.  You can have a 8.5" by 11" sheet of paper (both sides) as a "cheet sheet".
  • The next lab assignment, Lab 2 (posted), is due Friday, October 16 at 11:00 am.
  • Homework 3 is posted and due Wednesday, October 14 or Thursday, October 15. 
  • No class on October 12 and 13 (Fall Break).
  • In exchange for having recitation on October 9, you WILL MEET on October 7 and 8 to see a lab 2 demo - go to your regular classroom at the regular time.  You will have no recitation on October 9 (start Fall Break early!).

  • Read the book, chapter 6, pp. 329 to 341 (Karnaugh Maps - K-Maps).
  • Lots of info has been loaded in the  Computer Labs Page. Go visit it to read the material.  First lab due October 1.
  • Your "assignment" for Friday recitation:  go to the Computer Labs Page, read the "Installing Vivado" document, then download AND install Vivado on your laptop or PC.

Week of Monday, August 24, 2015
  • Welcome to ECE 2181!  The first day of class is August 25th and 26th, 2015.
  • Notes for section 002 have been posted and are on the notes page.
  • The book, Digital Design, Second Edition by Vahid will be used in this class.  Obtain a copy from the bookstore or purchase it online.
  • This class will be based heavily on the web pages.  For example:
  • There will be a few computer assignments to practice the concepts learned in class.  The Xilinx tools are available on university MOSAIC machines.  We will also use FPGA boards in any of the MOSAIC labs.
  • Link to the UNC Charlotte Center for Academic Excellence - There is tutoring available for ECGR2181 as well as other courses. You can make appointments by coming by the office, calling, or signing up online. Tutoring is provided by trained peer-tutors in one-to-one appointments, and during the current semester, students can schedule 1 appointment per subject per week. This service is FREE to UNCC students.
