Week of Monday, December 14, 2009
  • Tests have been graded.  Due to a limitation of Moodle, we cannot post scores (they are more than 100 points).  We also cannot post them outside an office.
  • Final Course Grades have been entered - you should be able to see them the morning of 12/17/09.
  • You cannot take your final exam with you, but you can examine it.  You can examine it starting next Monday (12/21) between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm., or by appointment.  Only Dr. Conrad will discuss grades with you, not Andy Schmidt.

Week of Monday, December 7, 2009
  • The final exam is:
    • Section 001: Wednesday, December 16, 8:00 – 10:30 a.m., Woodward 140.
    • Section 002: Tuesday, December 15, 2:00 - 4:30 p.m., Woodward 140.
  • Bring pencils, erasers, and your one sheet (two sides) "cheat sheet".  NOTE:  YOU CANNOT BRING TWO ONE-SIDED SHEETS.
  • Grades will be shown on a spreadsheet during the last class.  Only refer to Moodle to verify the correct numbers have been entered for you (not the grade totals or rank in class). Course evaluations will be held during the last class, which will also be a test review.

  • Computer Assignment 4 is posted and is due by Wednesday, 3pm on 12/2/09. 
  • Remember, due to the holidays, there are no classes or recitations on 11/25, 11/26, or 11/27.
  • The test is Friday.  Bring pencils, erasers, and your one sheet (two sides) "cheat sheet".  NOTE:  YOU CANNOT BRING TWO ONE-SIDED SHEETS.  The test is Friday, 9:00 am (arrive early.  Section 1:  Woodward 120, Section 2:  Woodward 125.

  • Computer Assignment 3 is posted and is due by Wednesday, 3pm on 11/11/09.  NOTE:  This is a change from what was previously posted - this will allow you to have time in recitation for test review on 11/13..

  • The Friday, 10/30/09 recitation will be back at 9:00 am. and cover Computer Assignment #2.  There will be a talk at 9:00 in Woodward 125 - make sure to be there!
  • Homework 8 is available. It is due at the beginning of recitation on Friday, Oct. 30.
  • Homework 12 is available and due December 10, noon.  Feel free to work on it in your spare time!

Week of Monday, October 12, 2009
  • Friday, 10/16/09 recitation will be at 8:00 and go the full 2 hours 45 minutes.  After a short demonstration in Woodward 125, we will split into different labs in Woodward to complete the tutorial.  The tutorial walkthrough is posted here.  Feel free to look at it Thursday so you are familiar with it on Friday.
  • Homework 7 is available. It is due at the beginning of recitation on Friday, Oct. 23.

Week of Monday, September 28, 2009
  • Homework 6 is available. It is due on your class day, Thursday 10/15 or Wednesday, 10/14.
  • There is no class on October 12 or 13 - Fall break.
  • Some of you will get a notification of poor class performance.  Those of you who have missed quizzes and/or homework assignments will especially see this warning.  Remember, there is always an opportunity to improve, especially since we will likely drop a few homework and quiz assignments.
  • We will change the date of the two tests in order to provide relief to students (who had 3 tests on the same day).  Test 1 is now scheduled for Friday, October 9.  Section 001 will go to Woodward 120, Section 2 will go to Woodward 125.  You are allowed one piece of 8 1/2" by 11" piece of paper, one side, for reference notes.  There are no computers, calculators, books, or other general notes allowed.  The test time is 9:00 am to 10:15 am.

  • Welcome to ECE 2181!  The first day of class is Monday, August 24th and 25th, 2008.
  • Notes 1 and 1A have been posted and are on the notes page.
  • The book, Digital Design by Vahid will be used in this class.  Obtain a copy from the bookstore or purchase it online.
  • This class will be based heavily on the web pages.  For example:
  • There will be a few computer assignments to practice the concepts learned in class.  The Xilinx tools are available on university MOSAIC machines.  We will also use FPGA boards in any of the MOSAIC labs.
  • Homework 1 is available.  It's simple - just based on the syllabus, class discussions, and the first book chapter. It is due on your class day, Monday, August 31, or Tuesday September 1.
  • Link to the UNC Charlotte Center for Academic Excellence - There is tutoring available for ECGR2181 as well as other courses. You can make appointments by coming by the office, calling, or signing up online. Tutoring is provided by trained peer-tutors in one-to-one appointments, and during the current semester, students can schedule 1 appointment per subject per week. This service is FREE to UNCC students.

  • From the outgoing IEEE President:  "ECE Students, A new academic year is about to start, and we need new and motivational people to make our IEEE Student Chapter even better. We will be holding elections for upcoming academic year on Friday August 28th at 5:00 pm in the Woodward 120. If you are interested in being nominated for any positions, or being involved please reply to this email. Food and Drinks will be served for IEEE members."
    I will award 3 points extra credit for those that attend.
