        &= nbsp;           &nbs= p;   20%     Major paper due: examination and interrogation of a chunk from Romance of the Three Kingdoms, read against one or more other selections, with some limited research beyond the texts themselves. May examine features of epic and narrative, impact of literary critical perspectives, comparative folklore or myth, cultural or <= span class=3DSpellE>sociohistorical reverberations .<= /span> 10 pages, primary source, UG G: 15+ pages, library research, 15-source annotated bibliog

Goals:    &= nbsp;         Familiarity with major works of ancient, classical & early medieval worlds; their intersections with comparative mythology, folklore and religion; their them= es, various emphases, and modern interpretations, using more than one way of re= ading from texts which both record their own worlds and shape the next.
