I'm going to pass back the midterm and discuss it with you. Please return these to me. I'm supposed to keep exams on file, so don't take them with you. I change them every semester, so they'll do your buddies no good in another semester. If I don't get yours back...I can't give you a grade, SO YOU WILL FAIL.

• Using verbs for résumé duties

• Revising for passive voice, parallelism, overusing prepositions, and other wordiness
  Check out the prose revisions

• General guidelines for block and modified block letter formats

• Using jargon, limiting doublespeak, reducing excess verbiage

• Revising to have inclusive language

• Using good instruction language and technique for users

• Understanding the goals of technical communicators and technical communication in general

• Understanding technology from a social perspective

• Good tips from Ch. 6 on designing illustrations
  On second thought, we'll hold off on this.

Coming Up...

Your Set of Instructions assignment is due on Thursday (7/25).

For Wednesday (7/24) you should read Ch. 8 in Tebeaux and Dragga because we're going to start thinking about research and discussing your seriously modified "research" project, so be thinking about a topic you'd like to consider for your Proposal, Visual, Annotated Bibliography, and Final Presentation. All of those will be due very soon. The term is almost over, so don't get behind...
