Movies to Expand Your Horizons

In no particular order:

  1. The Godfather I&II (III is ok, but…)

  2. Inception (what ideas are you committed too...)

  3. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
Most other Kevin Smith movies (except Clerks II, Zack and Miri, and others that are veiled romantic comedies trying to win over both male and female audiences to appeal to the widest demographic but actually end up being shoddy, forced, predictable fluff. Kevin Smith should leave such trite fare to Judd Apatow because that's his only talent.)

  4. Fear of a Black Hat

  5. The Rocky Horror Picture Show

  6. Mamma Mia! (The only thing better than seeing it is seeing it again, and again, and again...)

  7. V for Vendetta

  8. Vernon, FL

  9. Manufacturing Consent

  10. Office Space

  11. Sideways

  12. Hearts and Minds—disturbing

  21. Return of the Living Dead—filmed in Louisville

  22. Shaun of the Dead

  23. 28 Days Later

  24. 28 Weeks Later

  25. World's Greatest Dad—this is actually a zombie movie, but it's subtle; there's no actual biting or brain eating.
