Useful:

The UNC Charlotte Library system. Check the catalogue and the databases available through NCLive.

The Voice of the Shuttle. A site at UC Santa Barbara dealing with literary and critical scholarship. Very deep and worth exploring.

The Victorian Web. A critical site at Brown University for issues (historical, literary, artistic) related to Victorian Studies.

COPAC. The online catalogues of 22 of the largest university research libraries in the UK and Ireland PLUS the British Library.

The Library of Congress. Aside from the catalog itself, the main page of the LC has useful links to information sources and exhibits.

SHARP Web. A site set up by the Society for the History of Authorship, Reading, and Publishing.

Children's Literature Web Guide. A site set up by the library at the University of Calgary.
A site at Earlham College that lists undergraduate conferences and journals in the humanities.

The British NRA is the National register of Archives which is run by the Historical Manuscripts Commission. It is the first place to search for correspondence, documents, and related materials of notable British figures or institutions.



Amusing:

A site at Cornell where you can test your knowledge (memory) of famous literary first lines.
