How to use Webwork?
(MATH 1100-013, Spring 2008)
  1. The address of our Webwork page is
    https://www2.math.uncc.edu/webwork2/Spring2008-Math1100-013/.
    Click on this link.
(If you type it, make sure you type the forward slash at the end.)
  2. Enter username and password. Your username is same as the log in Id for your 49er Express account. You must have received this when you registered for classes at UNCC. If you don't know what it is, contact me. Your password is initially set to be identical with your username. Feel free to change it once you logged in. If you have any trouble accessing the system, send me an email to ghetyei@uncc.edu.
  3. Click on the "Continue" button.
  4. After you have logged in, you may choose to change your password by clicking on the line "Password/Email" in the upper left corner. You probably want to do this, but if you do, make sure you remember your new password.
  5. Now click on the name of the assignment you want to solve.
  6. After that, you may either decide to get a hard copy of the entire problem set by clicking on the link "Download a hardcopy of this problem set" OR you may begin doing the problem set by clicking on the name of the problem.
  7. In the lower left corner you may change how you view equations and wether your last answer should be saved. By default, you will view equations as images, and your last answer is saved. Change these settings only if you do not see the equations well. This experimentation is up to you.
  8. You may always log in as "practice" user to test your skills anonymously, but you will not get credit for the problems answered while logged in at "practice"
  9. Alert me if you have access problems, such that I may help you and allocate more time. I will not allow more time if you contact me with an access problem on the due date. Plan on completing your homework one day before the due date.
  10. "Access problems" are defined as:
    1. The webserver www2.math.uncc.edu or the Webwork system www2.math.uncc.edu/webwork2 is unavailable.
    2. Your login name and/or password does not seem to work.
It is not an excuse if:
    1. Your computer crashes.
    2. You have problems with your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
To do your Webwork assignments you don't need to own a computer, nor to have an ISP. There are plenty of public access computers on campus at your disposal.
  11. You may find information on the mathematical symbols available on Webwork and about how to enter your answers at http://webwork.math.rochester.edu/webwork_system_html/docs/docs/pglanguage/availablefunctions.html.
