Xingya Liu

Ph. D., Graduate Research Assistant
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, U.S.

Brief Biography

Currently I am a Graduate Research Assistant at UNC Charlotte ECE Department led by Professor Linda (Jiang) Xie, my Ph. D. supervisor.

I received my B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2010 and The Pennsylvania State University in 2012, respectively.

Research Interest

My current research interests mainly lie in cognitive networking for wireless networks (cellular, WiFi, vehicular, ad hoc, sensor, etc.), especially the MAC-layer and Cross-layer (between PHY and MAC) protocol design for fast, secure, and energy-efficient spectrum access and sharing as well as device-to-device (D2D) communications in emerging networks (IoT, 5G, mmWave, LiFi, etc.).
