Deeptak Verma received the Engineering degree in Bioinformatics in 2007 from Jaypee University of Information Technology, India. Continuing as a student he has joined The University of North Carolina, Charlotte for the PhD program in the same field. His areas of interest are Protein Modelling and Computer Aided Drug Designing. Currently he is working in Dr. Livesay's laboratory on MINER which predicts protein functional sites using phylogenetic motifs. His other areas of interest are HIV AIDS (its causes, effects and possibilities in development of drug/vaccine).
