Graphics/Visualization Laboratory

Coordinator: Dr. K.R. Subramanian (Dept. of Computer Science)

The Graphics and Visualization Laboratory in the Department of Computer Science supports the development of new courses as well as enhancement of existing courses. The lab will consist of a mixture of (special purpose) computing, audio and video equipment, as well as peripheral devices and control software to function in a networked environment. The lab will provide the necessary infrastructure for research and development of new applications, conversion and digitization of audio and video from different applications, processing and visualization of scientific/engineering data sets. The equipment in the lab will be connected to the rest of departmental laboratories as well as computational servers through a fast connection, such as FDDI (100-150MBits/sec).
