I
am a faculty member of Computer Science Department at the University of North
Carolina at Charlotte from August 2013. I am primarily interested in
Distributed Systems, Pervasive Computing, Internet of Things, Multimedia
Systems and Communication, Simulation and Modeling, Algorithms, Serious
Games, Vehicular Networks, Computer Networking, and Surveillance Systems. I
devised a solution for Peer-to-Peer Massively Multiplayer Online Games and
introduced a number of algorithmic solutions for improved gaming experience.
I am co-investigator of two NPST funded research projects: 1) Privacy and
Quality-aware Monitoring Framework for Public Security, and 2) Novel
Pervasive Computing Approach in the form of Serious Games to Counter and
Manage Obesity. In
the past, I was an Assistant Professor at the Dept. of Software Engineering,
King Saud University. I was also Instructor/Part-time Professor/Assistant
Professor at Carleton University (Canada), University of Ottawa (Canada), and
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), respectively. I
was a post-doctoral fellow at DISCOVER LAB conducting research on IBM
surveillance project with Prof. Shervin
Shirmohammadi and ACM DIVA (intelligent vehicular networks
and their applications) project with Prof.
Abdulmotaleb El Saddik. I
received my Ph.D. in Computer Science in December 2009, from the University
of Ottawa, Canada. My advisor was Prof. Shervin
Shirmohammadi. I completed M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Computer
Science and Engineering (CSE) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and
Technology in 2004 and 2002, respectively. I
received best student researcher award from Ottawa Centre for Research and
Innovation (OCRI), best paper and best poster award. I was recognized as a
meritorious candidate by Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of
Canada (NSERC) and nominated for Industrial Research and Development
Fellowship. I also received IEEE ICME quality reviewer award. |
