Instructional Planning in Special Education

Course Overview

This course addresses strategies for the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and related instructional planning for exceptional students within the general education or adapted curriculum. Through this course, students are expected to demonstrate proficiency in using the general education curriculum to develop appropriate IEPs and lesson plans for instruction.

Enrollment in this course requires the following technologies: reliable internet connection, skills in email communication, downloading and attaching documents, saving and renaming documents, and basic Word processing and PowerPoint preparation. Since this course is intended to serve as the foundation for other methods courses, there are no specified prerequisites to enrollment other than students must be officially accepted through the Graduate School into the Graduate Certificate Program.
